October 26, 2016. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I was referred to this vet by my neighbor, and I went because I was told he had fair pricing, and was good with their puppy. Here's my story. I had a seven month old mixed puppy who was refusing to eat her food, and then getting ill. I figured it was probably pickiness, but I took her to the vet to make sure she didn't have any underlying stomach problems. I arrived, filled out the appropriate papers, and was greeted by Dr. Potter in the waiting room. He asked me what I was there for, and listened. Then he glanced over at my dog, and proceeded to tell me it was entirely my fault and I wasn't giving her enough "tough love". He said put chicken and rice soup in her meals and only feed her milk bones for treats. I happen to not agree with feeding my dog milk bones, but I didn't say anything and let him finish talking. When we were done he charged me $45... I never saw an exam room, he never touched my dog, he didn't even take her current weight. I took my dog back home then returned to tell him how unhappy I was with his business. He responded to my unhappiness with complete unprofessionalism! He claimed that he charges $75 for a consolation and cut ME a deal by charging me $45 because I "looked like I needed help". So presuming he DID cut me a deal I asked him how much it would cost for him to give her an exam that day, and he couldn't even answer... then I asked how much to just bring her in for a vaccination, to which he replied $45 for the appointment alone. However, I knew my neighbors were only charged for the vaccination, and NOT an appointment, as is practice for a considerable amount of vets. That is because it only takes around 5 minutes to administer a vaccination. When confronted he simply said "that's my price, if you want a good vet you have to pay for it". Problem is...I DID NOT get a good vet..I got a fraud who charges whatever he feels like for absolutely no work. I am more than willing to pay for a good vet, but you will find no such vet at Heartland veterinary hospital.
Called for a quote to neuter, vaccinate and microchip my Great Dane. Price was competitive but the service over the phone was horrible. The man I spoke to was rude, impatient, and just cost this clinic my business. I will go elsewhere and pay more for better customer service.
This vet is the best. Wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. Very good at what he does. Good prices. Would recommend to everyone.
We are traveling and our small dog sustained a bad injury. The vet saw us immediately and was fantastic! He was skilled which was important but also fair Speaks a lot of him as a man! Thank you. Our family thanks you for our piece of mind. PS he loved our truck. Which says even more about him!!
I found Dr. Potter when I needed a vet to dock my boxer puppies tails and remove their dew claws. I found someone very knowledgeable about the boxer breed. He has been very supportive on questions I have with my first litter. A lot of vets do not support breeders and want all animals to be fixed. I understand the over-population problem. I just love the boxer breed and want to help other families to enjoy a dog/friend/family member like my boxer.
